Previous Experiences:

Dear Rabbi Hecht,

Thank you for an amazing winter break. It is, indeed, rare that a college student like me is able to experience so much spirituality in just ten days. I’m a resident of Los Angeles, California, home to a vibrant Jewish community, but the resources available to me in those ten days was incomparable. I was impressed with the knowledgeable staff of teachers, tutors, and mentors who showed a genuine concern for a west coast college student they never met before. The trip to Crown Heights and 770 was enjoyable but the greatest moment of the trip was praying by the Rebbe's gravesite. I shouldn’t forget to mention the learning. The other students who were there were so curious and motivated that the learning atmosphere was beautiful. I felt at home from the start. The students are so warm that I felt we were already old friends. The experience was so great that I decided I’m coming back. I’m getting my bachelors degree from UCLA in Psychology in June ’04 and I’ll see you there in July. I will, G-D willing, be staying for at least a year at the yeshiva before I go to law school.

Again, I cannot convey to you the importance of those ten days. I feel like, for the first time in my life, my eyes have been opened and a new world of wisdom and mysticism has been revealed to me. Thank you and the rest of the Rabbis who learned with me and guided me towards a more spiritual awareness of every day life
